Keito for Windows is the second Keito desktop app. It puts the timer in the Windows notification area, next to the clock, so you can start and stop client work without opening a browser tab. Every entry lands in the same Keito workspace your team already uses for projects, approvals, reports and invoices.
The short version: the same signed, self-updating desktop timer that shipped for Mac in July, now for Windows 10 and 11. Download it, sign in once, and your day shows up in Keito.
Why a Windows App?
When Keito for Mac launched, the most common request was the obvious one: the same thing for the rest of the team. Consultancies and agencies rarely run one operating system. Designers on Macs, engineers and account managers on PCs, everyone billing the same clients.
Keito for Windows closes that gap. It is the same product, built from the same code, with the same behaviour. A team can now mix Macs and PCs and every timer, note and entry ends up in one place.
What It Does
Keito for Windows lives in the notification area at the right of the taskbar. From there you can:
- start a timer against a client project and task in two clicks;
- pick up recent work again without hunting for the right project;
- see the running timer and your day’s total without opening the window;
- add notes to an entry, including team-only internal notes that stay off client reports;
- review and edit today’s entries, or log time after the fact;
- keep tracking when the connection drops, and sync when it returns.
If you step away from your PC, idle detection asks what to do with the time when you get back. Detection stays on the device: Keito does not record keystrokes, mouse movement, screen contents or application names, on Windows or anywhere else.
Signed, Self-Updating, No Admin Rights
The installer is signed by OSO DevOps Limited through Azure Artifact Signing, so SmartScreen shows the publisher rather than a warning. It installs per user under your profile, needs no administrator rights, and updates itself. Every update is checked against the same publisher signature before it runs.

Microsoft Store
Keito for Windows is also being submitted to the Microsoft Store. The Store delivers the identical signed installer, so it does not matter which route you choose; both copies update themselves the same way. We will update this post when the listing is live.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Keito for Windows need administrator rights?
No. It installs for the current user under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Keito and never asks for elevation. Uninstall it from Settings, Apps, Installed apps.
Is the Windows app the same as the Mac app?
Yes. They are built from the same code and connect to the same workspace. The only differences are where the timer lives (notification area on Windows, menu bar on Mac) and platform conventions such as launch at login.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Timers keep running and entries are stored locally until the connection returns, then they sync.
Does Keito for Windows monitor what I do?
No. Idle detection only checks whether the device has been used recently, and that check stays on your PC. Keito does not capture screenshots, keystrokes, mouse activity or the names of other applications.
Which Windows versions are supported?
Windows 10 and Windows 11 on 64-bit PCs.
Is Keito for Windows free?
The app is free to download. It requires a Keito workspace account, which is included in every Keito plan.
